In his early life, Alfred Rose was born as Rosario Alfred Rose to his father A.M.B. Rose, who was also a tiatrist (a playwright and actor in Konkani theater).

His mother’s name is Dolarosa Fernandes. He was nicknamed “Junior Rose” by tiatrist C. Alvares when he made his stage debut at the young age of 11.

Alfred Rose decided to adopt this name in 1950, and since then, his family has been known as the Rose family. He was referred to as the “Man with the Golden Voice” by the HMV recording company.

He was incredibly talented and composed more than 5,000 songs.

Alfred had his own band called the Rosebuds Swing Band and performed musical shows in various countries around the world.

He was also the first to compose, produce, write lyrics, and release the first-ever Konkani album.

Alfred presented the first-ever Konkani musical shows with his family and released Konkani novels titled “Vingans Monte Christochem” and “Monis vo Devnchar.”

He also released fourteen Konkani songbooks containing lyrics.
