Diego Costa Brazil | Why Does Diego Costa Play for Spain?

Diago Costa Brazil is a professional football player who represented Brazil before playing for Spain. He is well known for his aggressive style and aerial abilities and hence was named the ‘most hated footballer’ by the French newspaper L’Equipe in 2015.

Diago Costa Brazil had made just two appearances for the Brazilian national side in the year 2013 before receiving Spanish nationality.

Having said that, the Spanish FA had to make a special official request to FIFA for permission to call him up. Soon the request was approved as he had only played in friendly matches for his home country.

His debut for Spain came in the year 2014 and went on to represent the national side at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.

Atleti is his home place in Spain which means that for him his home place is better than anywhere else.

To cut it short, Diago Costa Brazil hasn’t played professionally in any Brazilian team. Therefore, he thought that he would feel happier in a national team of a country that gave him 80% chance to play.

Final thoughts on Diago

Is Diego Costa One of the Best Strikers in the World?

My answer is not by any means. The best strikers in the world would be Suarez, Lewandowski and Aquero.

There are better players where pace, dribbling, speed or long-range shots are concerned such as Muller, Cavani and Ibrahimovic.

But he is surely unstoppable when he gets going at the same time if he doesn’t score then he is into his antics play.

Moreover, he is a smart fellow always having some tricks up his sleeves against the opponents having the upper hand when required.
